Institutional Advancement:
Carol Kleban Tuition & Financial Aid Fund

On June 27, 2015, PCS lost a beloved longtime staff member and a cherished friend of our community. Carol Kleban was tirelessly devoted to PCS for more than 36 years, serving as a Teacher, Principal, Associate Head of School, and most recently as our Alumni Liaison.

When Carol retired from her Associate Head of School position in 2013, she was asked as to what purpose a fund in her honor should be focused, and it did not take long for Carol to determine that the fund should benefit students, who were always her top priority. Tuition and financial aid at the School are distributed equitably to families who would otherwise not be able to afford a PCS education; however, the number of tuition and financial aid grants given each year is limited by the funds available. Because of the unhappy reality that deserving candidates are turned away each year, Carol decided that her fund should support the School?s most critical need, and it was initially established in recognition of her long career at PCS. Upon her passing, her family requested that funds made in her memory support PCS and, in an effort to honor both their request and their mother?s dedication and care during an outstanding career, the decision was made to continue supporting the Carol Kleban Tuition & Financial Aid Fund.

Carol had a remarkable ability to see the best in people, to touch lives in innumerable ways, to instill hope, to foster confidence, and to share in the joys and the challenges that each of us faced. Her legacy leaves us better people, her lifelong desire to educate leaves us more able to make a more perfect world, and her empathy and love always served to complete us. Our future has been made brighter by her light and she will remain always in our minds and in our hearts. PCS mourns the loss of our dear friend who was taken from us much too soon. May her memory always be a blessing.
